Do you or anyone you know have anything you would like to display? It can be something you make, or even something you don’t make and would just like to display (ie flower arrangements, potted plants, photography, pottery, holiday decorations, drawings, paintings, decorative baking (i.e. gingerbread men, cookies which resemble things etc.) wood carvings, and collectables); OR something you collect (ie sports cards, Christmas decorations, nostalgic or military memorabilia, tobacco pipes, etc.). But please make sure you do not bring anything of significant value!

Mark you calendar – The annual LuLu Benefit Concert will feature an arts and crafts show this year side by side. And everyone is welcome to display their creations or collections, community members and Shriners alike!

Free entry fee – Although participants in the exhibition will be required to purchase a ticket to the concert for $10 which benefits our Temple, they will not be required to pay an additional fee to exhibit.

The concert begins at 2 pm on Saturday Oct 21, 2017.

Price of admission only $10.00 (includes light refreshments). Tickets may be purchased from office. Advance ticket purchase is recommended for this special concert.

Featured performers/artists:
Noble Lance Wiseman, our pianist and conductor, will be featured soloist along with outstanding invited guest soloists who have graciously volunteered to perform just for us in an an effort to help out our Temple.

Among the featured displays in the arts and crafts exhibition will be works by professional artists Huangxin Wang and our very own Lady Kathryn Dyer Czlapinski, wife of Noble Lawrence Czlapinski, president of Delaware County Shrine Club. Their biographical sketches appear below.

Artist Kathryn Dyer Czlapinski created hand painted articles for Catholic Priests at the request of the Provincial Superior of the Little Sisters of the Poor. The painted articles were sent to His Holiness the Pope from 1961 to 1994. His Holiness then gave the gifts to priests being sent to poor foreign missions.

Artist Huangxin Wang and students, master of Chinese Painting, or Guohua, is a unique and vital art form with a long history of transformation which can be traced back as far as 200 AD, which uses the same mediums and tools as today. Mr. Wang and his students recently exhibited their works at Freeman’s auction from February 7-23.

For those of you who are able to attend, you will discover a special well known surprise guest which you are sure to be thrilled with! We can not divulge ALL of our musical acts, as that would spoil the surprise, and it would not be as much fun. However, we can tell you that, as always, it will be a pops concert with a variety of music including light classics and pops and handmade creations etc.

This is all part of our ongoing effort to bring members of the community and Shriners together and to provide visibility for our great fraternity. Our concert will open with our traditional flag ceremony accompanied by marching music provided by our in house orchestra, Arts International Festival Pops Orchestra (composed of members of LuLu Shriners Concert Band and their relatives as well as members of the community). They are generously donating time from their busy schedules for rehearsals and performance.
